VBAS

Von Braun Astrononmical Society, Huntsville, AL.

VBAS panorama

March 2003. A sloppy but sincere ($1 to Peter Buck) panorama stitched from three rows of three overlapping images. Several obsevers were on the concrete pads near the dome. I let the top row stay a little out of focus; that emphasizes the brighter stars. You can also see how northeast Huntsville keeps growing... and glowing.

Big Dipper

The Mojo Eye didn't do too badly with this 30 second exposure of Ursa Major. At ISO 100, the camera's noise reduction routine was helped along by a little work in Paint Shop Pro.

Da Moon

12 April 2003. The Mojo Eye sees the Moon with a little help from the VBAS 16-inch Celestron telescope. This image features the most excellent crater Clavius on the left. Afocal method, exposure 1/100th second (!?!) I checked. Sure enough, that's what the exif info tag says.

12 April 2003. Lunar Southern Highlands

VBAS in IR

Summer 2002. A IR shot of the facilities, taken late afternoon.

photograffitti

"Evil. Pure and Simple. From the Eighth Dimension." ($1 to Buckaroo Bonzai) Photograffitti detected Summer 2003. Alleged perp at right. 30 second exposure at ISO 100
