- I snarkily flamed The Bad Astronomer's blog about something unrelated to science that got on my nerves, and he responded with civility and restraint. That's downright DIABOLICAL. For that reason alone, he earns a link from my list of honored unclaimed co-conspirators.

- Entire front page in utter turmoil for redesign in progress. Business as usual on the Internets.

- There's a thin line between love and hate on my feedback hall of fame page. The best of Unclaimed Mysteries-related short reviews, fan mail, and various USENET fishing expeditions.

- The first volcano images are in from my trip, and while they aren't suitable for Blowing Up Real Good (TM), they give a hint of the jaw-dropping experience of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

- Trying out Multiply, a new blog/homepage/whatyouwill. These things are getting fancy. This one, if I keep it, will be kinder and gentler than the fevered rants elsewhere. Promise.

- Adventures in Forensic Astronomy: I put the unsharp masking whammy on a deteriorating VHS videotape of an annular-total solar eclipse from years gone by, when I still didn't have hair. The result is mildly ecliptastic!

- Web site contracting drastically. Some links are going away for good. I hope to shift emphasis almost completely to contact info, my pictures and my odd little photo essays. I revived a dormant Blogger account. Uh-oh. More writing will go there eventually.

- Night of the Upside-Down Aurora, -ora, -ora, -ra, -a. Fog illuminated by moonlight from above, and low-pressure sodium vapor and mercury vapor lights from below. Looking northwest toward Huntsville. Taken from halfway up Monte Sano, along the Bankhead Parkway and Shock Absorber Test Range.

- Reworked a pano of Samford Hall.
- Added Contact Form, de-linked the e-mail address. The spam:legit e-mail ratio is approaching 30:1, due to spambot harvesters picking up my e-mail links in each page, and my previous bad habit of posting on USENET with an unmunged address.
